Our History

Growing up in the family firearms business in Middle Georgia, Nathan Reed was well aware of the need for a quality indoor range. He had been curious for years about the process of building a modern indoor shooting range. In 2022, he and his wife Luci set out to gather more information and now two years later, construction is nearing completion on the region’s best firearms experience. Grand opening: Fall of 2024.

Steel Forest Facility Features

A few features of the Steel Forest facility that Middle Georgians should be excited about are:

Middle Georgia’s first climate-controlled indoor shooting range.

- Regardless of the weather conditions outside, the range is a comfortable temperature year-round
- We invested in a dedicated range HVAC system comparable to those found in a hospital operating room designed specifically for the range environment. It includes a series of three filter banks that scrub and clean the air as it cycled through with constant fresh air. The results: The cleanest and safest experience for our guests.
- Sound Abatement: Our range includes strategically positioned several inch thick sound absorbing materials specifically designed to dramatically reduce decibels and the associated reverb. The manner in which the duration of sound attenuation is reduced improves the overall experience. More rounds down range for more fun!

Members lounge, event space, and outdoor patio are accommodations for members and their guests. Non-members have the opportunity to book events and may use one of our half dozen catering partners for your business meetings and celebrations.

Classroom space in which the public, as well as our members, can choose from more than a dozen training and educational courses.

These courses include firearms safety, introduction level classes and advanced defensive pistol courses. Steel Forest also offers non-firearm related curricula such as CPR and non-lethal devices, situational awareness classes, etc. Check out our course offerings offered by our staff instructors to grow your firearms knowledge and hone your skills to get “Better Informed, Better Equipped!”
