I have a black powder rifle and pistol I enjoy shooting. Is black powder or a substitute such as Pyrodex allowed on the ranges?
No.
Is any ammo prohibited?
Some types of ammunition are not safe to use on our ranges. Pyrotechnic, tracer, exploding, incendiary, amor piercing or armor piercing/incendiary rounds are not allowed. Steel jacketed projectiles are not allowed as they may also spark.
I reload my own ammunition, can I keep my brass?
Yes. You may keep any spent brass from cartridges you bring and/or buy which are contained within the boundary of your lane. Do not pick up brass cartridge casings from other shooters as they belong to the shooters or the range. Be courteous. RSOs will also be sweeping up brass that is beyond the back edge of your stall walls to avoid slip hazards for you and other shooters.
I want to rent a machine gun but I have plenty of ammunition already. Can I shoot my own ammo in a machine gun?
No. We require newly manufactured ammunition purchased in our store (on the same visit) to be used in our machine guns. Machine guns are expensive firearms and costly to maintain.
What is the price per person if not a member to shoot?
The cost to rent a lane for one hour is $20.
Additional people on a lane?
Up to two shooters may “share” a lane at one time. An additional shooter on the same lane is $10 extra. Three or four shooters together would be required to rent an additional lane.
Minimum age to shoot?
You must be 12 years of age or older and in the company of a custodial parent or guardian to shoot on the ranges, 21 years of age or older to rent handguns or machineguns.
Can I rapid fire on your range?
Beginning shooters are observed closely to insure that all rounds are going into the backstop before “rapid fire” is allowed. Experienced or known shooters may shoot rapidly as long as they do so safely, and all rounds are going into the backstop.
Are shotguns allowed on your range?
Shotguns with slugs are allowed. Buckshot may be used for “patterning” a shotgun with an RSO present and attending. Birdshot of any type is not allowed, nor pyrotechnic, flechette or exploding projectiles (Dragon’s Breath).
I want to shoot with my wife, but we don’t have kids. Do I need family membership?
No. You may purchase a “Redwood” membership which includes most of the VIP Family membership benefits but for you and your spouse only.
Can I reserve a lane so that I know one will be available when I get there to shoot?
As a Cedar or Orchard member you’ll enjoy the ability of reserving a lane on the date and hour you desire up to 1 full week (Redwood & VIP Grove – 2 weeks) ahead of time.
What is the latest time I can shoot?
The store and ranges close at 6:00 PM (5:00 PM on Saturday) and we ask that all shooters clear down their lane tables at least 10 minutes before closing. No new shooters will be admitted to the range bays after 5:30 PM (4:30 PM on Saturday).
What is the longest distance I can shoot at your range?
Our longer bay is 25 yards. However we can use a ballistic calculator to help you zero your rifle at a much longer distance.
What is the largest caliber I can shoot on your range?
All 12 of our lanes are rated up to .300 Win Mag.
I haven't had a chance to get an optic or sights for my flat-top AR yet. Can I still shoot it on your range?
No, we require you to have some way to aim your firearm before you can shoot it on your range. This is so we can try to protect our equipment and keep our range nice. We have sights and optics for sale if you need them.
